Pack your weekender and get on the Jitney (or maybe that new $275 Blade bus): Memorial Day is here, and the Hamptons is officially entering its high season. While part of the charm of the Hamptons is that it never really changes (there’s nothing like getting fresh fruits and vegetables from Round Swamp or Amber Waves Farm), it’s always exciting to see what’s new to explore in New York’s official summer playground.
So, Vogue decided to make a list for those driving down Highway 27-A of the hotels, restaurants, and shops you should know this summer. An iconic East Hampton mainstay, for example, has undergone a multi-million dollar facelift, whereas a beloved Brooklyn institute with an incredible burger is coming to Sag Harbor.

Hotels

This June, East Hampton’s Maidstone Hotel reopens after a multi-million dollar facelift with management by LDV Hospitality and interiors by Poonam Khanna of The Unionworks. Beachy yet elevated guest rooms, complete with Frette linens and Santa Maria Novella amenities, are adorned in hues of warm amber and soft peach. Meanwhile, social spaces come in Atlantic Ocean-inspired blues and greens. The hotel’s bar and lounge will be stocked with a selection of board games, and the on-site restaurant will serve coastal Italian cuisine.
Proper Hotels, the hospitality group known for their wildly popular (and Kelly Wearstler-designed) Santa Monica outpost, have taken over the Montauk Yacht Club after an extensive renovation. Meanwhile, their restaurant The Ocean Club will be helmed by Chef Jarad McCarroll, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse and The Ritz London.
Restaurants
Off the turnpike in Bridgehampton is Arthur & Sons, the Hamptons outpost of the buzzy West Village Italian eatery. They’ll serve old-school comfort food–like Caesar salads, fried calamari, spicy rigatoni alla vodka, and chicken parmesan—while a soundtrack of ’90s hip-hop plays in the background.
Meeting House (Amagansett)
It’s time to welcome the Meeting House back to Amagansett. After closing in 2017, the restaurant has officially returned to its original location in Amagansett Square (held in the interim by Wolffer Kitchen.) Here, it will act as the official restaurant for the nearby hotel, Reform Club. While the menu is still under wraps, expect American classics and plenty of Long Island wines.
Billy Durney, the man behind Red Hook Tavern, is opening a similar seaside outpost in Sag Harbor. If it’s anything like its sister restaurant, expect classic American tavern fare (including a mean burger) that will fit perfectly within the historic whaling town.
The Surf Lodge welcomes a new restaurant concept with Casa Sereña, which will offer a menu inspired by both Mediterranean and Asian flavors. Dine on crudos, sea bass, and seafood towers while overlooking Fort Pond.
Just past Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton will be Lil Charli, a casual pizza spot serving elevated pies—one comes with soppressata and spicy honey, while another is topped with prosciutto, burrata, and arugula. Oh and, they’re all available at one-meter long. An added bonus? It’s open until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, meaning you can get your late-night fix.
Fitness

Brisas, a new padel club in East Hampton, promises to be a social hotspot as much as an athletic one: in addition to the three padel courts, there’s an outdoor lounge dotted with artisanal furniture from Mexico as well as a wellness space with a cold-plunge and yoga studio. Co-founders Luciano Gazcon and Rohan Kamdar say they want to challenge the norms of a traditional country club and create a more bohemian, relaxed environment.
Forma Pilates—the referral-only Pilates studio with a celebrity following that includes Kendall Jenner and Lori Harvey—will open in Sag Harbor this summer. Come June, the 1200-square-foot studio in Post House will have reformers undertaking their daily workout while overlooking the cove.

This May, Veronica Beard opened a new store in East Hampton on Newton Lane. The American sportswear brand will carry light and airy versions of their best-selling blazers, all within the floral interiors of Carolina de Neufville.
Cult American sportswear brand TWP is opening its first store outside of New York City in Sag Harbor this summer. Expect their cropped shirts—playfully named “Next Ex”—to be a staple on stylish women out East as the warmer months roll in.
