If your May to-do list includes booking summer travel plans, a Hopper sale on hotels this week may put a spring in your step.

Flight tracker app Hopper, which has an office in Boston, just launched a Summer Travel Sale, with up to 50 percent off hotels in more than 40 popular destinations including Boston. The sale takes place May 8-10.

According to Hopper’s latest Summer Travel Outlook, 87 percent of Hopper travelers plan on taking a trip this summer and nearly three-fourths of those travelers have not yet booked their trips.

Hopper recommends travelers book summer trips “no later than mid-May to score the best savings,” according to the company.


For those traveling to Boston or looking for a staycation in the city, Hopper users can get 20 percent off Boston hotels listed in the app.

The following are examples of hotels in Boston and also Maine that are offering specials during the travel sale, according to a Hopper representative: The Revolution HotelBattery Wharf Hotel, and the Beacon Hill Hotel, all in Boston, and Ogunquit Hotel & Suites and Union Bluff Hotel & Meeting House, both in Ogunquit, Maine.

Domestic deals outside of New England include 50 percent off hotels in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; 30 percent off hotels in Denver, Seattle, and Nashville, Tenn.; 25 percent off hotels in Washington, D.C.; 15 percent off hotels in Miami and Kissimmee, Fla.; and 10 percent off hotels in Orlando, Fla.

International deals include 50 percent off hotels in Sydney, Australia and Prague; 40 percent off hotels in the Cayman Islands; and 30 percent off hotels in Paris, Rome, London, and Cancun, Mexico.

The discounts are valid on the Hopper app from midnight on May 8 EST through 3 a.m. on May 10 EST.
