While Pella is known for its Tulip Time festival, there’s another draw for couples. Consider a stay at the Amsterdam Hotel in Pella, which is praised for its Dutch architectural style by Midwest Living, plus the onsite restaurant Liberty Street Kitchen.

Historic Park Inn in Mason City made the list and was spotlighted for its design by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright and its prime location for those wanting to explore the downtown area.

Of course, you can’t talk about romance without “The Bridges of Madison County.” It’s no surprise Winterset was chosen, and more specifically, a stay at Heavenly Habitat Bed and Breakfast for those looking for coziness and comfort as they journey to Iowa’s iconic covered bridges.

Among the several spots to stay in Des Moines was the century-old Hotel Fort Des Moines for its 1920s-inspired feel and luxurious amenities for guests. Plus, get drinks at speakeasy In Confidence and dinner at Proudfoot and Bird at the hotel.

Other recommendations for places to stay for a romantic destination included Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Charles City and more.
