Hyatt & Peloton announce new partnership to bring Peloton Bikes, Rows, and classes to Hyatt hotels – Peloton Buddy – Pelo Buddy

Peloton and Hyatt hotels have announced a new partnership where Hyatt’s loyalty members (World of Hyatt members) will soon be rewarded for working out with Peloton while they stay at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts.

This is the first partnership of its kind where a global hospitality loyalty program will reward its members for engaging in health and wellbeing activities by using Peloton equipment during their stay.

In addition, this partnership will bring Peloton devices & classes to Hyatt hotels around the world. Peloton will supply 800+ Hyatt properties with Peloton equipment and provide access to Peloton classes for members to take on their guestroom TVs at nearly 400 properties this year. Specifically, Peloton Bikes will be available at each Hyatt hotel in the markets where Peloton already operates, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, Austria, and Australia. Select Hyatt luxury and lifestyle hotels in the U.S. will also receive the Peloton Row. It does not appear that Hyatt properties will have the Peloton Tread available for its guests.

Peloton and Hyatt shared a reel on Instagram announcing the partnership, showing Peloton instructor Jess King packing a suitcase with Peloton accessories and apparel.

“Hi, I’m Jess. Come pack with me for my World of Hyatt vacation. Be on the lookout for more coming soon.”

Greg Hybl, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Peloton for Business, said the following about the partnership:

“With Hyatt, we are enabling new audiences to experience Peloton’s cutting-edge technology and world-class content for themselves, and giving existing Peloton Members more of what they love while on the go. Being able to maintain a wellness routine while traveling is difficult for everyone. Our goal is to continue to find innovative ways to instill a little motivation so everyone can take some time for themselves, even if they are far from home.”

The press release mentions the following benefits that will come from this new partnership

  • Earn points for qualifying Peloton Bike or Peloton Row workouts completed at participating Hyatt hotels
  • Receive an extended 60-day free Peloton App trial (new Peloton Members only)
  • Get special offers on Peloton equipment and private World of Hyatt member events, and
  • Take Peloton classes that do not require equipment (e.g., stretching, bodyweight workouts) right from their guest room’s TV (at participating hotels).

In addition, participating Hyatt hotels “will have access to a unique set of non-equipment-based Peloton classes that will be available to corporate meeting and conference attendees.” There will also be Peloton App One offers and Peloton hardware discounts for “many Hyatt colleagues in qualifying countries.” It’s not clear whether “colleagues” means Hyatt employees or others.

Peloton will announce their fiscal year third quarter earnings tomorrow, so more context might be shared then.

Peloton has partnered with other hotel chains in the past, including Hilton in the United States and Accor in Australia. We also have a comprehensive list of hotels around the world that have Peloton equipment so you can plan your travel without sacrificing your workouts.

What do you think of Hyatt’s new incentives for prioritizing members’ health during their stays?

More details are expected at a later date, and we will share more information as it becomes available.
