LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The head of the Culinary Union says they will not accept what Virgin Hotels Las Vegas called its “last, best, and final offer”for a new contract.
Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge told reporters Thursday that the offer did not contain wage increases for the first three years and was “woefully inadequate and substandard.”
Pappageorge said the union has offered dates to Virgin Hotels leadership to return to the bargaining table to continue negotiations.
Virgin Hotels hospitality and restaurant workers who are members of the Culinary Union have been without a new five-year contract since last June, and union workers staged a 48-hour strike earlier this month.
Virgin Hotels has accused Culinary leaders of negotiating in bad faith, saying they’ve made misleading statements about their proposals and engaged in “take it or leave it” bargaining.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
